I am 75 years old. My hobbies are walking, traveling and fishing. I have lived in Houston for 48 of the last 50 years, interrupted only by a year in Singapore, followed by a year in Brisbane, Australia.
Since moving to Houston from Maryland in 1975, I worked for 38 years as a mechanical engineer in the oil industry and for 3 years as a social worker. I am proud to hold Texas state licenses in both professions.
Since retiring in 2016, I have been active in volunteer work, including:
-
Conducting practice interviews with the WorkFaith job search training program.
-
Providing administrative support to the Institute of Spiritual Health in the Texas Medical Center.
-
Serving as President of my Home Owners Association for 3 years.
-
Serving on the Board of Directors for Houston’s Tex US TOO prostate cancer support group.
My interest in CoHousing stems from living for 3 months in the L’Abri religious community in Switzerland at age 23. I was also exposed to intentional community living while a member of Redeemer Episcopal Church in Houston’s Eastwood neighborhood in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.
It was during this time that I met my wife Jenella. We have no children, enabling us to revel in the role of the “fun aunt and uncle” for the past 40 years.
