Steve Stelzer is a third generation Ohio State Buckeye, but this side of “nut-job”.  Born and raised in upstate New York, he moved to Houston to be an architect right after college.  After a diverse architectural career and a family life, he joined the City of Houston to educate the public about green building, trying to make sense of what we refer to as ‘sustainable development’.  Currently between ‘empty nester’ and retirement, cohousing is an intriguing path forward in this urban experiment.  Meanwhile, Steve is a maker and enjoys creating objects (mostly lamps and clocks) out of detritus, and jointly creating origami ornaments with his wife Kathleen.
